In 2014, Amer was one of the few music teachers still teaching in Syria. He taught and shared music with hundreds of students to combat the horrors of the ongoing war. Facing imminent death, he was forced to smuggle himself out of the country and his treacherous journey began across 10 countries, 3 continents, and over 10,000km. Finally arriving in The Netherlands, Amer’s journey continued through 9 camps, endless hurdles, no language, no contacts, no money, and no home, Amer was able to rebuild his career as a sought after performer, teacher, and has since become a speaker and ambassador alongside some of the world’s leading human rights and peace & justice organizations.
In addition to vast creative and production development, we have been building a broad platform of support, collaboration, and joint initiatives with some of the world's leading human rights and peace & justice communities. Some affiliations of individuals and organizations include:
The Peace Palace, The Carnegie Foundation, The Hague Project Peace & Justice, The Hague Institute for Global Justice, Musicians Without Borders, Justice and Peace NL, Hague Talks, Landesmusikakademie NRW, Vfonds, Permanent Secretariat for the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, The Royal Jordanian Film Commission, Malta Film Commission, Netherlands Film Commission, The Hague Film Commission, CNN, Amer Music for Peace, and more.
